Sydney has an endless amount of fantastic restaurants on offer which always makes it hard to decide where to go! To give you a helping hand I asked the PQ team to send me their top eats from all across Sydney….

Address: 71 George St, Parramatta NSW 2150
What to Order: Chicken Laksa with Mixed Noodles
Don’t let the awkward alleyway entrance fool you, Temasek is an institution in Sydney for Laksa and other Singaporean-Malay cuisine. On a weekend night I typically see them with their overflow seating open and it is full to the brim with a long line to boot so make sure you get a reservation. The Laksa is one of the best in Sydney with an exceptional and authentic flavour but I also highly recommend the chicken rice or Nasi Lemak!

Restaurant: Chica Bonita Manly
Address: 9 The Corso, Manly NSW 2095
What to order: Any of their Tacos and or their Margaritas!
This is a great place to dine with friends on any given night, plus they also do nice bowls & burritos for lunch, perfect for when you are spending the day down the beach! It’s my go place anytime I crave a fresh cocktail, food and chilled vibes! No reservation is needed, if there’s a bit of a wait you can just put your name down and stroll Manly Corso in the meantime! Lunch is very affordable, dinner is a little bit more pricey but sooo worth it! I also challenge anyone to find tastier Margaritas!

Restaurant: Sydney Brewery
Address: 28 Albion Street, Surry Hills, Sydney
Cuisine: Australian Pub Classics |
What To Order: Smoked Lamb Ribs and Mini Nutella Doughnuts
For a great brewery with amazing food, check out Sydney Brewery, located near Central Station in Surry Hills. I love going there for their Smoked Lamb Ribs and finishing my meal with their Mini Nutella Doughnuts (the best doughnuts I’ve had in Sydney!). Their food is well complemented by a wide assortment of in-house beers and occasional live music on Fridays. Before visiting, be sure to check out The Fork (they frequently run a 30% discount on food there – what a win!)

What to Order: Burrata Pizza and Tiramisu
If you’re a pizza connoisseur and enjoy authentic italian-style woodfire pizza you’ve got to try Impasto. You can either get take away or dine in and you won’t be disappointed. Using a thin base and top quality ingredients, their pizzas have many delicious flavours. The staff are absolutely lovely also very knowledgeable, and they always make excellent recommendations on the best wine to match your food selection. My personal favourite is the Burrata, with the creamy cheese and the truffle base… mamma mia que bueno!

Restaurant: Yok Thai Tapas
Address: Shop 1&2, 4-6 Rangers Rd, Neutral Bay
What To Order: Everything!
This joint has a great ambience and, sometimes they have live music too! It combines 2 of my favourite things: Thai cuisine and Tapas style dining! You need to go there with a group of friends so you can enjoy lots of different dishes. Everything is delicious and well presented but, if you have to pick one, the salmon ceviche is a must – it’s the Thai spin on the traditional peruvian dish – yum!

Restaurant: My Mother’s Cousin
Address: 9 Shaw Street, Bexley North
Cuisine: New York Style Pizza
What To Order: Cheese, OG Roni, Korean Fried Wings and Sally’s apple pies for dessert!
My Mother’s Cousin is a New York inspired pizza joint in the quiet suburb of Bexley North. Between the woodfire pizza, chicken wings, garlic bread and apple pies, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Their dough goes through a 48 hour fermentation process so you know the utmost care has been taken to prepare your pizza. They don’t take bookings though so best to pop in on Wednesday or Thursday evening, or outside of peak dinner time (5pm-7pm) to secure a table. It will be well worth your time!

Restaurant: Rice & Rolls
Address: 07 Hume Hwy, Lansvale (next to Blair’s Tyre)
What to order: BBQ Chicken Pack
Rice & Rolls food truck in Lansvale is the ultimate comfort food! Whilst some might argue they have a simple food offering, they do simple the best! They have a whole range of BBQ options with my favourite being the BBQ Chicken Pack in a meal which includes their classic BBQ chicken, rice, chips with special seasoning, and Vietnamese salad which also comes with a drink and sauce of your choice.. all for $18! They also have their signature spring rolls, Vietnamese iced coffee, Tongan ‘otai drinks, and hold multiple food truck festivals! They’re consistent, they’re good, and I’m always greeted with a smile 🙂

Restaurant Muum Maam Barangaroo
Address: Shop 6/23 Barangaroo Avenue Barangaroo NSW 2000
What to Order: Green Papaya & Tiger Prawn Salad & Pandan Sorbet
Muum Maam characterise themselves as a casual restaurant serving Thai street food. The words ‘casual’ and ‘street food’ bring to mind simple and familiar but Muum Maam is anything but. Situated at Barangaroo Wharf, with waterfront views, it’s the perfect backdrop for dinner! If you’re looking for something crisp and tropical, The Green Payaya & Tiger Prawn Salad is a highlight, perfectly balancing crunch with zest. The cream of the crop is the Pandan Sorbet, a silky and light sorbet harmoniously sitting on a bed of textured coco crumb – the perfect way to end the evening!
