Why Core Values Matter at ProQuest

If there’s one thing you should know about ProQuest, it’s that our core values – the framework for how we conduct ourselves – are non-negotiable. It took us a long time to articulate our values into five statements that summarise who we are, but the process was well worth it. We believe our core values contribute to a strong company culture and a rewarding work environment. They guide all aspects of business, from the decisions we make to the talent we source to the way we interact with our clients. That’s why they are important not only for our staff to recognise, but for our clients and our peers to understand.

Here are ProQuest’s core values, or ETHIC as we like to call them:


1) EXCELLENCE: Strive to be the best you can be. Execute as a true professional.

2) TEAMWORK: Collaborate towards success. Nurture friendship and fun.

3) HONESTY: Be authentic and transparent. Build trust and strong relationships.

4) INNOVATION: Be creative, modern and bold. Drive continuous improvement.

5) CUSTOMER CENTRIC: Exceed expectations. Turn customers into raving fans.

 


As a team, we need to make quick decisions every day, and while it can be tempting to take the easy way out or stay within our comfort zone, we try to make every decision with a focus on honesty and excellence. Are we doing the best we can? How will this action affect our clients and employees? Our goal is to deliver results and follow our core values while being mindful about how approach every situation.

Teamwork is important for us because we’re at our best when we work together. So much of our work involves collaborative problem solving, and we rely on strong communication and understanding between our technical and functional consultants to deliver the transformative results we promise. We also strive to create innovative solutions that will make our clients’ processes smoother and more efficient.

 

We keep ETHIC at the forefront of everyone’s mind by making them prominent within our office. They are painted on our walls to serve as a daily reminder for our team, and to inspire them to do the best work they can. We also work them into our weekly standup discussions to make sure our team is putting them into practice.
